Standard Auto Spring Works
Add-a-Leaf and Load Support
An add-a-leaf or heavier spring pack may help a suitable vehicle support its normal working load more consistently. We first need to understand the vehicle, equipment and load.

Representative spring work
What you may notice
Signs worth having checked.
- The vehicle sags under its normal working load
- Permanent equipment changes the rear ride height
- The existing spring pack feels too soft for regular use
- The vehicle needs a more stable loaded stance
- The current spring configuration no longer suits the work
What we look at
The inspection goes beyond one part.
- Normal and maximum operating load
- Permanent tools, service bodies or other equipment
- Existing spring pack and related hardware
- Loaded and unloaded ride height expectations
- Whether an add-a-leaf or complete pack is more suitable
Good to know
Adding a leaf or installing a heavier spring pack does not increase the vehicle's manufacturer-assigned Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWRs). The vehicle must still be operated within every published and legal limit.
