Standard Auto Spring Works
Broken Leaf Spring Repair
In some spring packs, a broken leaf can be replaced with a correctly matched repair leaf. We inspect the remaining leaves and hardware before recommending a repair leaf, rebuild or complete pack.

Representative spring work
What you may notice
Signs worth having checked.
- A visible crack or separated piece of spring steel
- A sudden lean or change in ride height
- Clunking, shifting or metal contact near the axle
- A spring leaf extending beyond the rest of the pack
- Uneven support when the vehicle is loaded
What we look at
The inspection goes beyond one part.
- The location and shape of the break
- Wear, corrosion and fatigue in the remaining leaves
- Damage to clips, centre bolts and U-bolts
- Spring eyes, bushings, shackles and hangers
- Clearance around the axle, tire and brake components
Good to know
If a leaf is visibly broken, the vehicle is leaning or metal is close to a tire, call the shop before driving it further.
