MPI Mechanical Sublet Support for Body Shops

Body shops use Standard for specialized mechanical work that sits outside their collision and refinishing operation. We receive the vehicle, confirm the assigned scope, document what we find and return it after the mechanical work is complete.

01

Who can arrange the work

Three common ways a mechanical sublet starts

01

Body shop referral

The primary collision repair shop sends the vehicle and assigned suspension, steering, axle or alignment scope to Standard.

02

Estimate and repair instructions

Depending on MPI's estimate and repair instructions, the collision repair shop may arrange the specialized mechanical portion with Standard.

03

Specialist chosen by the customer

After the estimate and approval pathway is established, the customer can ask for Standard to complete the eligible mechanical scope.

01

01. Send the vehicle and assigned scope

The body shop supplies the claim, contact, estimate and authorization information available for the mechanical portion.

02

02. We inspect and measure

Our technicians confirm the repair path and identify hidden or related damage that needs documentation.

03

03. Estimates and supplements

Photos, measurements, alignment information and repair details are shared through the assigned body shop or MPI process.

04

04. Repair, report and return

For body shops

Send the scope before the vehicle when possible.

Claim number, estimate lines, authorization status, vehicle details, target dates and the right shop contact help us plan the sublet and flag missing mechanical information early. Standard provides the mechanical repair. We do not provide body, paint or structural collision work.

Authorization and official rules

Keep the repair source and insurance source clear.
